The information operatives who worked out of the Internet Research Agency in St. Petersburg not only sought to pose as American social media users or spread false information from purported news sources, according to new details. They also created a number of Twitter accounts that posed as sources for Americans' hometown headlines.

Russians have practiced the long game for decades now. They invented the “sleeper agent” concept.
Using the media combined with the human weakness of no independent thought against us is just par for the course for them.
Many folks fall into the trap of “if it’s on the web it must be true” and the Russians use it to their advantage.
The real question is how to stop it or minimize the damage?

IMO, it takes the individual. If one wishes to believe what they read, we cannot stop it. However, we can try to research and find the truth (or at least as close as possible) and pass that on to others. What they choose to do with it is up to them.

Long before Trump was in the picture you could watch Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and change to Fox and wonder if they were in the same time and date. I don’t think it is as much as Trump as it is the news politicaly spining the news their way.

MAJ Byron Oyler - You are spot on. It is far too easy for the left to blame President Trump because they have VERY SHORT, and CONVENIENT memories. A lot like the fact that their left wing darlings bill Clinton, and our former "community organizer in chief" saying and doing the EXACT same things about immigration that they now continually try to say our current President is so very cruel for doing. If you look at the actual record, the separations that they now say are so cruel go back to the last administration. They truly like to have their cake and eat it too. But there I go again, confusing the issues with facts.
