Rundle Won't Charge Prison Guards Who Allegedly Boiled Schizophrenic Black Man to Death

Ok I could not believe that this happed, so I did some research and it is way worse. This happened 4 years ago (so lets keep the politics out of it) It took 2 years before it was "investigated" and 2 more years before it was decided the guards did not thing wrong.

I really like this tidbit, “The shower was itself neither dangerous nor unsafe,’’ the report says. “The evidence does not show that Rainey’s well-being was grossly disregarded by the correctional staff.’’ So a shower is suppose to melt your skin off? How was his well being not grossly disregarded? He is DEAD!!! and he died in a very slow and tortuous way. While I'm cool with this for say a Pedophile, rapist, or murder, all this man had was possession of drugs.

But we have this part where it was acknowledged that the showers did burn people and were used as punishment. "Miami Herald investigative reporter Julie K. Brown spoke to multiple witnesses, jail inmates, and staff members, who said the showers were routinely used to scald inmates who acted out or upset the guards. Brown led a 2015 investigative series into abuses at Miami prisons. That series led to lawsuits, firings, rule changes, and legislative hearings."

This is the kind of BS that makes life harder on everyone else in the Justice system, or Police Departments. Clean your house do it publicly and stop covering up. Then you will earn the Trust of the Nation.

Wasn't there, so I have no idea what actually happened. What I do know is there are a significant number of mentally ill inmates across the country that need psychological care. These inmates are often isolated and forgotten. The only ones who get attention are the ones so desperate, they cover their bodies in feces only to die in a shower. Sure there's some bad CO's, but the work environment for CO's across the country is challenging, to say the least. The entire system needs a drastic overhaul...including the judicial branch that perpetuates this madness.

So making terrorists form a human pyramid in the nude is "torture" (degrading yes but not torture IMO), but routinely scalding American Citizens, one to the point of death is acceptable. What a country this America.
