I've never owned one, but Uberti sells some much more affordable reproductions that at least look nice on the internet: https://www.uberti-usa.com/dragoon-revolvers
Dragoon revolvers evolved as improvements on the Colt Walker. Eli Whitney manufactured the first run of 1848 Dragoons for Samuel Colt.
