SSG Robert Perrotto - A fair amount of them were nazis and white supremists.

Labels are important if they are true. It's time for the Republicans to clean up their act and stop trying to blame others for their own shortcomings.

Personal responsibility indeed.

SPC Kevin Ford - Careful with labels brother - labeling people for the actions of a bunch of knuckleheads is also how we got into this. Were there White Supremacists present, no doubt they were, as instigators and grifters are in all mobs. Folks like these will take advantage of any unrest they can.
I just read that at least 1 staff member claims that room panic buttons were torn out before the riots https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/capitol-staffer-says-office-panic-buttons-were-torn-out-before-riot/ar-BB1cIZph?ocid=msedgntp

SSG Robert Perrotto - Oh, it's a little more than that. The Trump faithful have been turning a blind eye to the Nazis and white supremacists in their ranks for quite some time. Sure sometimes people who you don't want to be on your side are on your side. But they've done more than that, they have provided them aid and comfort.

We've got a couple different groups at play here. The majority of those people were just protesters who were, for lack of a better word, gullible about the election results. Then there is another group and that group had a much darker design and we have to take that very seriously.

SPC Kevin Ford - I absolutely agree that there are some who sympathize, and I also agree that there are more nefarious actors involved, and those have to be taken seriously. I have no issue putting Proud boys and their like on a watch list. I just do not want the poor schmuck who was just there protesting to be deliberately targeted.
The rhetoric needs to change as well, by all means be hard on the ones who purposefully did shit in the building, I have no sympathy or empathy for them. And for all that is right and just in the world, any officer that stood aside and let them pass should face a treason charge, or the peacetime equivalent. They had a solemn duty to defend and protect the legislative branch of our Government. willfully and deliberately failing to discharge that duty is far worse then what the mob did, but that is probably the infantryman in me.
