Interesting.
So the other guys want to spend trillions on various things and raise taxes for everyone (there is no other option) in order to pay for it.
I don't think that is that hard to run against.
If the premise of this article is true - I will leave out the LOL notion that only politicians on one side of the aisle lie - then how do they explain how the GOP has won the Presidency six of the last ten elections with only catering to 1% of the electorate. They can't because clearly they are full of it.

Any essay that begins, "The Republican Party has a problem. A big problem. As the party of the wealthy and big business, how in the world can it convince the working class to vote for its candidates?" is in big trouble. It starts with a lie and that always leads to a path headed down.

Follow the money. Start with the Federal Election webpages for Campaign Finance. If you spend enough time you'll find out that the old canard about the GOP being the political party of big business just doesn't hold up to scrutiny, despite what Democrats tell you.

Both parties cater to big money. We the People have driven them to it. We are too easily distracted with shiny objects, flash ads, and other nonsense. It's gotten so bad that our elected representatives have handed off the business of governing to unelected bureaucrats so they can spend their days on phone banks soliciting donations and running around chasing corporate money bags.
