"So the Russians somehow swayed the the US Election, not by altering voting results, but by making public actual evidence of wrongdoing on the part of the DNC and the Clinton Campaign." Shouldn't we be investigating the DNC and Clinton Campaign and thanking the hackers/leakers?

Instead we are implying that the hack was the crime not what was exposed by the hack.

If anyone believes that foreign governments are not listening to, watching, etc everything we do one is pretty naive.

SPC Kevin Ford - If, indeed. If it was a hack in the first place. If it was a leak, the DNC position would be that it was treason. In any event, the problems exposed by the hack/leak become irrelevant (or carry very little importance).

Capt (Join to see) - Not that they can't do it if they want to, but governments intercept data at the transmission nodes and don't need to hack individual databases and programs.
