I belong to both VFW and Am Legion. Plus DAV. I like my Am Legion Post, it is in exile since the Chinese Communist kicked us out in 1948. So it is a worldwide post. I have belonged to the same one for 26 years. I have 25 PCSs in my career, so I have belong to VFWs in USA, Korea, and Philippines. But, the expat post is my favorite since I lived over seas so much from early age.

SFC Dave Beran - I know exactly who you are talking about. That is his pen name. He has attended our Annual worldwide get-to-gathers. So has his son, who is picking up the writing bug. That first series of his was a good decompression tool for me in the 1980s after high Optempo job overseas. He is a great write.
