Not to sound negative, but he might be looking at a civil law suit against him.

Capt Dwayne Conyers - I'm angry that anything this careless could happen. For the honest Cops out there doing the tough work I'm all for and more than willing to support in any way possible. But when this crap happens, Body camera's not on, Car camera not on, Shot without identifying your target (When its not a raging gun battle), Recklessly handling your weapon inside the cop car, Less than 3 years on the force and there are already two or more investigations/complaints against you? At what point do you as the police chief say what the F _ _ ck Hairy?

Capt Dwayne Conyers - that would be too quick of a deal. Maybe on the stretching rack.

Armchair quarterback here. I've never been a Police Officer or Operator type person. But I'd expect a person employed to protect others would be well trained on target identification before sending rounds out. There must be more to this story we don't know yet.

The part that confuses me is why he would shoot close to his fellow cops vehicle according to the report she was standing right next to the driver side window of the police cruiser talking with the officer inside. Why the hell would a trained police officer just open fire with risk to hitting his fellow officer.

I don't buy it and I think the story is BS. Previously, he lawyered up and wouldn't give a statement (a very smart thing to do). I find I strange that he is talking now.
I was a cop for 30+ years. I think he had his gun out (not unreasonable given the circumstances) and he "accidently" pulled the trigger. For liability purposes, he would be better off saying it was an accident. Blame it on poor training by the PD.
By saying he intentionally shot her because he was startled he is guaranteed to be prosecuted and sued. The department wont back him up and he will be flying in the wind. The fact that his partner didn't shoot is very telling.

After reading the article I would think Noor is facing time for negligent homicide or similar charges as LTC (Join to see) stated. His track record in two years is sketchy, and with three complaints (one dropped) two still active. Maybe a review or additional training was required or done for them IDK. But either way for his reasoning in shooting her won't hold up. Noor feels he was thrown under the bus, well only he's responsible for his actions and he is fully accountable. I understand why others back pedal away. Opinion only. Thank you Capt Dwayne Conyers
