If you are an elected or appointed official and not discussing classified material I think your email should be more open for scrutiny.

I suspect most organizations that have political aims would disagree with you. People running for election need to be able to discuss the pros and cons of one platform, strategy or another. If you make it so that is subject to FOIA too I can tell you what's going to happen, they are just going to meet in small groups in person.

SPC Kevin Ford - I agree, I'm not naive enough to think it would happen but there is an unrealistic expectation of privacy in email.
That goes out the door faster when you put classified info on an unsecured server...

SPC Kevin Ford - You also bring up a good point. Prior to email and telephones, the "heavy lifting" was done in small groups at the bar.
Anything written down is just begging to be made public... I've even had commanders who would not send anything other than "all hands" info on email. Everything was done in person.

There are 13 adjudications to have or to lose a security access (Clearence). According to the investigation as well as the leaked emails I count 4 violations. As an elected official your standards should be the same/higher than mine. Please explain how her (Clinton) access is still intact.
