Saw something on this earlier in comparison to a case where a black woman who had been released from jail, but was still on probation, cast a vote in good faith not knowing her right to vote was still suspended after release while on probation. She cast a provisional ballot and her ballot was never actually counted. And to be clear, she was voting for herself and not trying to cast a fake vote - a case of no harm no foul. Still, she was found guilty of illegal voting and sentenced to five years in prison... Not parole or probation like the guy that jumped through numerous hoops to cheat. Actual prison time.
