I understand not wanting to have family find them, but I can't help but wonder if some of the reason for doing it at VA facilities is a hope that their particular "why" will be better understood by fellow veterans. Either way, it is so sad to think about a brother getting to that point.

Oh my God, I knew it was bad, but you are right, it is very dark indeed! I hope everything possible is done to save these Vets! God Help them and those that must treat them!!!
