I feel sorry for this Admiral. I have to step kids that have dropped out of school because of drug addictions and mental issues. A 19 year old step-daughter collapsed in our house after having withdrawals from illicit drugs. As an adult, we couldn't do anything for her when she went to the hospital. I'm sure many of you have family members that you've pointed in the right direction to say notice cigarettes, pot, alcohol and drugs. You put them in programs like Air Force Junior ROTC or you sent in the Catholic School and they seem to find druggies in both those venues. Peer pressure, Facebook and a messed-up family does not help things either. Going to Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous is a step in the right direction but it is no guarantee. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink still applies today!

LTC (Join to see) I feel your pain, sir! I lost an Uncle to drug abuse... I actually blame Hollywood and the rash of stupid shows that glorify/glamorize drug use (Breaking Bad, WEED, etc...). I did multiple counter narcotic deployments and is just sad to see the amount of drugs that come in to the US.

Pothead prime minister Justin Trudeau who is not the typical pothead because he is a pretty good boxer and a good athlete, is not your typical pot smoker and he wants to legalize pot by July of 2018. My wife, who is indigenous, has a step brother and knows the name people who are fetal alcohol syndrome or FAS which means their mom drank while they were in the womb. They end up being a little autistic and they have less Common Sense than most people and they end up having more kids. I feel the same thing will happen with people who were potheads and druggies who get pregnant and then have kids (out of wedlock) who end up being addicted.

When I was in college, I helped a lady bring a bed or mattress to her house. She was working for the Department of Social Services and she took care of all these druggie babies. I think they were mostly crack babies or baby's of addicts and these babies couldn't look at you straight their eyes move from place to place they looked strange. Is that our future? Stupid liberals from both the American and Canadian sides have their head up their fifth point of contact and they don't realize what it can do to someone who's 13, 14,15 years old and totally screw up their life. My step daughter dropped out of school in 9th grade she's 21 now and even though she has a heart problem, she still walks around with a lighter and my 10 year old daughter saw her smoking something in an Instagram Picture! People are so stupid, if you need a pacemaker, you shouldn't keep smoking or doing drugs! This 21 year old claims that she doesn't smoke anymore but I always see her with a lighter. That's The Tell-Tale sign is they will con you and maybe get high from somebody else.

You can make the horse very thirsty by putting a salt lick next to the watering trough.

The opioid epidemic is a pestilence. Some claim that its minorities and Native American and Canadian Indians that are od'ing. That is not true, the majority or white people and it continues to spiral out of control.
Here's a picture I saw a few months ago from British Columbia. Notice the majority of the deceased happened to be white.

White trash are everywhere. In the province of Alberta, a promise of 4.2 million people, we have a lot of drunks druggies and stupid people who try Fentanyl and don't live to tell about it.https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/alberta/death-toll-from-fentanyl-related-overdoses-continues-to-rise-in-alberta-report/article37098455/
