It is often the case that politicians oppose things verbally they protect in private. Our Senator just constructed an ad that complains about Democrat deficit spending. During the $7.8 trillion 4 years deficit of the previous administration, he said nothing. Are the Democrats to blame? Sure they share the blame, but so do the Republicans

I do not think dark money is a good thing. But I also do not think federalizing elections is a good thing. Put them both in the same bill, and I am forced to vote against both of them. And then the media gets to attack me as supporting dark money. WHEEEEEEEEE!
That is exactly what this hit piece does. Attacks every Republican Senator as supporting dark money because they voted against the irrational, un-Constitutional, and STUPID HR1. Regardless of how they felt about dark money, that bill was HORRIBLE. So now they are all against dark money because they voted down a bill which had dark money provisions.
This is like me trying to pass a $1T highway bill which includes $100B for a "study" of migratory patterns of the elusive gray-headed chickadee in Alaska (read: pork and kickbacks) and $10,000 for a program to give lollipops to toddlers. Then when you vote against it, I get to say you hate toddlers.
And, no, McConnell's hands are not clean, here. But the article goes on to paint ALL Republican Senators with the same brush. Which is just plain wrong. And irresponsible, too.

I guess you forgot that the Right to Vote is a Constitutional Right. Therefore the gov is obliged to protect that Right.

SGT (Join to see) - Don't know how you got to that conclusion. But whatever path you took was a wrong one.
