Someone is in serious need of a hug. No, SSG Harsfield, there are no bogeymen in the closet or under your bed.

I know that CPT Jack Durish. I'm a deceptively evil person and they know better

The GOP has a problem with dead people, non citizens voting. Democrats don't.

SSG Michael Hartsfield - Guess you have a lot of DEAD troops in your platoon or whatever? They must be GOP as you can't find them or fire them or do anything but pay them?
Or are they Democrats because they are only there for the paycheck and not the accompanying work? The world may never know.......

SSG Michael Hartsfield - Your reply to the story indicated that the GOP has a problem with dead voters voting but that you didn't. You don't mind dead voters so long as they are voting Democrats??? That what your reply stated.

SSG Michael Hartsfield - This is Illinois' 4th Congressional District as determined by the Congressional redistricting commission appointed by then Governor Pat Quinn (Democrat) and approved by the Democrat dominated legislature. The net result was that in the surrounding districts, representation went from reliably Democrat districts 3 of 5 to reliably Democrat district 4 of 5, and the remaining district leans democrat.

I still do not understand how Voter ID laws are suppressing the Vote or a form of racism.
You need an I.D too
1. Buy Alcohol
2. Buy a car
3. Buy a home
4. Rent a home / Apartment
5. Pick up your mail
6. Cash a check
7. Get a Job
8. Get on a plane
9. Rent a Vehicle
10. Buy Smokes
11. Take out a loan
12. Go to Court
13. Buy a gun
14. Open a Bank account
15. Get into a Club / drinking establishment
16. Attend School
17. Pay with a check / credit card
18. Pick up medication
19. Buying Insurance (Obamacare anyone)
20. Going to R rated movie
21. To Gamble (lotto anyone)
This is something everyone can easily get. Most states only charge 3 to 5 bucks for a valid state ID. So every time I hear how its a burden to prove you are a valid American and legally allowed to vote and do any of the above I ask my self two questions. 1: How are you surviving in America with out an ID? and 2: Who really benefits from a system that is easily corrupted by a lack of accountability?

I'm not going to try and say voter fraud doesn't exist BUT it doesn't exist in the way many of you may think. As I said in an earlier discussion, voter fraud occurs 1 in every 32 million votes. In the 2008 general election, 132 million people voted. So how many instances of voter fraud were there? FOUR
Also, your "source" cites instances from 2013 and mentions nothing regarding the presidential election. Also, they were CAUGHT which goes to show that you can't get away with it

CPO (Join to see) - None of the examples you gave in your first paragraph are true. But, even if they were true, please tell me how a voter ID restriction would have prevented what seems to be (but isn't because it is false) massive vote tampering?
Also, I am not necessarily saying it is racist, but it is discriminatory towards low-income Americans.
SFC (Join to see) - The amount of people who do not drive and do not have bank accounts is high. I mean, it isn't like 50%, but it is high enough. Higher than you would imagine. Some studies indicate that the number of African Americans without Driver's licenses is as high as 25%, while the number of Caucasians is 8%.
According to a study by the FDIC: "7.7 percent (1 in 13) of households in the United States were unbanked in 2013. This proportion represented nearly 9.6 million households." That is a number I would categorize as "large".
Also, have you looked into the restrictions to have welfare? You don't need these IDs as they have alternative means of verifying identity.
Also, come on man, buy alcohol and tobacco? How often do you show an ID at the gas station/corner store for these things? I don't. I have never been required to show IDs for utility bills, you can get prepaid wireless at store and gas stations that don't require IDs, a lot of places where the impoverished live and work do not require IDs for employment (not that that is OK). Again, it points to my 3rd point above: There is a huge misunderstanding of how the American poor live.

Any one of those things can, and in most cases do, require ID. No, you don't need ID to pay a utility bill, but you do need one to set up a utility account. You can buy a phone at the gas station, and if you can afford that, you aren't so poor you can't buy a state issued ID card and use it to vote. (yeah, I know, you shouldn't have to prove you have the right to vote, just like I shouldn't have to prove I have the right to keep and bear arms, but it is what it is.)
You're making excuses. I know exactly how the poor here live. I have no misunderstanding of how the poor live. I also know most of our poor live considerably better than the poor anywhere else; with public or subsidised shelter, some form of welfare support, etc.
I also know every state in the union provides free (or reduced rate) state issued ID cards for impoverished people and many of them have mobile ID card makers for invalids and non ambulatory citizens who wish to have a state issued ID card. Even them racist states like Texas and North Carolina and some of them will help the people find proof of identification if they don't have it and even help them register to vote while they're there. Saying "these people can't get an ID" is not true.
