Otto Warmbier was arrested for trying to steal a banner, which contained a propaganda slogan, from the hotel he had been staying in while in N. Korea as a tourist. His attorney said his crime was so severe against the state that it would warrant a "death sentence", instead he had begged the court to sentence the young student to hard labor instead.
In the video attached we view a healthy looking looking Warmbier as he pleads for forgiveness from the state of N. Korea and asks for mercy, stating that he is a "scapegoat".
Warmbier is now a political pawn in the hands of N. Korea, being utilized within N. Korea to demonstrate the "evil" of the United States.

You're an American in North Korea and you think its a good idea to steal some bullshit DPRK banner. That there is stupid taking care of itself. As to his confession - I would have been a little more colorful and creative. I hope while he is being held he learns how to die on his feet under his terms. Tell that little dick Kim Jong-un to 'suck it'.
