Article States this was a pre-existing policy.
So he already wasn't supposed to, but did it anyways.
Seems... Pretty clear cut.
For all the good intentions, there's a lot of room for things to go wrong.

I think with the policy, it is simple, if it was a pre-established policy then so be it. This probably has to do with a privacy policy of some sort. I think this is the officer where he always allows the young lady in his patrol car and play music. Thinking about it, I am sure this could easily cause some sort of issue.
On the contrary, with the light that law enforcement has been in the past few years, the videos were much needed. He showed the world what being part of your community is about. It isn't about the shooting or ruining a persons life, but about the daily interactions you have with your community. As in the military, winning hearts and minds.
Now I am curious since this department led the suit in banning social media while on shift, wonder what will happen to Officer Daniels....hmmmmmm......

If you were paying a painter by the hour to paint your house, would you let him spend time throughout the day posting on social media while on the clock? Seems like a pretty simple policy to me. When you're at your job, do your job. Save the personal stuff for off duty time.
