Residents in Kyiv woke up to air raid sirens ringing out in their cities again.
Dozens of civilians were killed on Monday as Russian missile strikes hit Ukraine's second city, Kharkiv.
Diplomacy was also at work as Russian and Ukraine representatives met on Monday, the first time since President Putin sent troops across the border six days ago. There's no ceasefire on the table, but they have agreed to meet again.
Andrei Kozyrev served as Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs in the 1990s, and was a member of the State Duma until 2000. He’s a strong critic of the Vladimir Putin and dismissed recent peace talks as bogus, with the Russian delegation being composed of junior representatives. He said Putin would only back down when defeated on the ground: “They will stop at nothing without being punched back strongly,” he told us.
