These cards are issued by the state government and require two valid forms of ID and a DD-214 to have one. I hardly see the problem here as the individual has those two other forms and likely uses them more than a Veteran ID. Ironically, it is actually easier to vote in Ohio by producing one ID than it is to get a state issued Veteran ID card.

I was issued a Veteran ID from the VA and I never use it, nor do I have the need to use it (it too was easier to get, by just being in the VA system). What the hell does any Veteran need a Veteran ID card for anyway? Seems to me that the state could reduce costs/logistics by simply doing what Texas offers, by annotating you are a Veteran on your State ID or Driver's license (should you choose).

There are a lot of problems with this article and it's viewpoint.

1st, the state offers NO COST state ID, which is valid for voting. That alone renders all discussion of disenfranchisement or disparate impact moot.
Second, they talk about "what if you lose your wallet and all you have left is your county-issued Vet ID?" Really? Because that county issued Vet ID is DEFINITELY gonna be the thing I keep separate from my wallet. In the words of the Prez, "C'mon man." Also, if you lose your wallet, you simply go replace your ID. See point 1 about cost.
Third, An idiot in the article is quoted talking g about disenfranchisement of retired military members. Ummmmm... retirees have military ID cards - which are acceptable under this law. They would not need that county vet ID.
Finally, they admit that they have absolutely no data showing disenfranchisement due to voter ID laws, but then claim it still happens, they just can't prove it because... I dunno? That would take effort?

This law allows for the 4 main forms of ID that are universally accepted - and (almost) universally owned. Driver's License, State ID, passport, military ID. It is pretty much impossible to function in society without at LEAST one of those four. Show me someone who wants to participate in society who has none of those four documents and is also unable to obtain one. I'll wait. But until anyone can show me that person, voter suppression is nothing more than a bogeyman.

MSG Joseph C. - Thank you, However, you did not post one case of where the requirement for ID would have changed anything.

By the way, you dismiss my source and then use Fox, the Hill, and NY Post?

Yes, it is a right wing organization. But the database is neither right nor left, it is simply a collection of facts.

Biased?

Overall, we rate the Heritage Foundation Right Biased based on conservative policy positions and funding from right-leaning organizations. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to promoting misleading claims regarding global warming and the health dangers associated with tobacco.

THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION
The Heritage Foundation brands itself as a beacon of the intellectual conservative establishment. In reality, the think tank serves as a pipeline of hate to the Trump administration, dedicating significant energy to extremist policy recommendations to deny access to abortion and birth control and to harm LGBTQ people.

MSG Stan Hutchison yes. I already addressed that. Heritage foundation is right biased.

But the database they maintain is a database of PROVEN (i.e. gone to court and adjudicated) voter fraud. That is just facts, not right or left.

They have 1412 cases right now.

Yes, voter fraud happens. A lot more than the left likes to admit.
