I heard a similar type statement by a commentator when Brock Oswieler was replaced by Payton Manning in the last regular season game of their Super Bowl season. Manning made a play, and Brock was shown clapping on the sidelines. The announcer said "Oswieler is clapping like a guy who just lost the Oscar".
