Navy Likely to Seek Fleet-Size Increase

Proponents of a smaller Navy always cite how much more capable modern warships are, yet completely overlook how much less combat survivability they have. We are comfortable with our small fleet size because we haven't had to endure the loss of a warship in combat - and then had to immediately replace it - Since the Korean War. Someday we will end up having to go to war with an actual organized Navy. We should be prepared to meet that threat in my opinion.

Considering how MUCH we import/export via sea, its really stupid not to have a large Navy.
