This article covers a lot of information but as a soon-to-be retiree, I think TAP offers a lot of benefits as long as your command is supportive. Unfortunately for some, it seems command emphasis varies which counters the purpose of TAP and the benefits it provides.

I think TAP has changed quite a bit in the past 5 years. It's definitely a robust process here at JBLM.

For me...TAP was a wate of my time...just a square filler...got bad advice on resume building, job search, interviewing, and financial planning. Luckily I had a friend who was an outside HR person and was able to get me squared away.

I am sure some are better but at my base it was not good at all. The sad part about it is that they worked fome two levels down. Needless to say after kine I solicited feedback from some other folks that went through and we implemented some changes and put some folks in there that knew what they were talking about.
