California Kidnapping Laws – Penal Code Sections 207, 208, And 209
In order to prove that you guilt of kidnapping the prosecutor must prove the following elements:

The defendant took, held, or detained another person
- by using force or instilling reasonable fear;
- Using that force or fear, moved the other person (or made the other person move) a substantial distance; AND
-The other person did not consent to the movement.

Once again, the media promulgates crap information in a manner that fits the medias political agenda (stop DeSantis)

Capt Gregory Prickett - California's law is not the same as Texas' law. The article is about California attempting to prosecute.

Nonetheless, what was the deception?

The illegal aliens sent to California were promised HELP [emphasis mine] with obtaining jobs, clothing and shelter if they accepted transportation to a different migrant center, according to officials with the non-profit. They were delivered to Catholic Charities. Is it you assertion that Catholic Charities offered them no assistance?

The illegal aliens sent to Martha's Vineyard were also offered assistance, which they got, not guarantees.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Will those same sheriffs be seeking charges against the Biden administration for some 70 flights of illegal aliens to Florida? In most cases those illegal aliens were minors and not legally capable of providing consent.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I guess it will come down to whether they were promised jobs, or assistance finding jobs. It is my understanding that there were written agreements which were signed by the immigrants. It's been over 6 months. With the documents in hand, why so long to charge?

"Florida's voluntary relocation is precisely that - voluntary. Through verbal and written consent, these volunteers indicated they wanted to go to California," Alecia Collins, an emergency management spokesperson, said in a statement.

The statement included a link to video of Spanish-speakers apparently traveling voluntarily, with one man saying he had arrived in California and others saying they were treated well on their journey. The exact circumstances in the video could not immediately be verified by Reuters."

The only statements to the contrary haven't come from the illegal aliens. They have come from California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office. Why no comments from the illegal aliens themselves. Unfortunately, my trust in leftist/liberal/democrat politicians is so low that my start point is to assume they are busy coaching those illegal aliens on just what to say. And this will die down until late in the 2024 election cycle.
