LTC (Join to see)Our Organization
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that hosts special events in order to raise awareness and funds for local Veterans and Veterans organizations.
Our Mission is to enhance pride and patriotism in all Coloradans by building a stronger, more supportive community around our Veterans.
Colorado Veterans Project understands the need for a greater appreciation for all Veterans and their families. We are the largest Veteran event-oriented nonprofit organization in Denver, hosting multiple high-profile events during Veterans Day and Memorial Day weekends in Colorado. Our events focus on bringing together local Veterans, businesses and community in order to remember the sacrifice and service of our Veterans.
We work side-by-side with the City and County of Denver, local businesses, and various Veteran organizations in order to maximize the impact of our special events. Past events have gathered remarkable numbers of participants and attendees. Visit our website to learn more about our organization and our team:

Our Cause
Memorial Day Run & March first started in 2015, and turned out to be a huge success. Hundreds of participants and attendees showed up on a beautiful spring day to pay tribute to our fallen heroes, donated food to help feed local Veterans, and pushed themselves to complete the 5K, 10K, or challenging 30K Ruck march. In 2016, the event grew to enormous proportions – we raised over 26,271 pounds of food! And we expect 2017 to be an even BIGGER year! We hold this event for our participants and community, but also for our Veterans—especially our fallen brothers and sisters—to remember their service and ultimate sacrifice.
Feeding Homeless Veterans
During our Memorial Day Run & March event in 2016, we were able to collect 26,271 pounds of dry good food donations! The food was loaded onto our semi-truck and hauled to the Douglas/Elbert Task Force, where it was donated to help feed local homeless Veterans.
This year, we will be donating to Warrior Warehouse & Redistribution Center and hope to greatly increase our donation amount!
Remembering the Fallen
For many Americans, if you ask them about the true meaning of Memorial Day, they’ll say it’s the official start of summer, when all the pools open, or when you can get furniture and appliances on sale. We want to honor Memorial Day the proper way: remembering the people who died while serving in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. Even though our event takes on the Saturday before Memorial Day, we think it’s the right way to start a respectful Memorial Day weekend. The 30K Ruck march course is not one that’s meant to be “fun”—it’s meant for participants to push themselves and give their all, just like our fallen heroes, past and present, have given their all for our country.
Bringing Awareness and Recognition to our Veterans
We believe that our Veterans deserve the utmost respect and should be recognized for their service and sacrifice. Memorial Day Run & March is hosted by Colorado Veterans Project. Our goal is to raise awareness and funds for local Veterans and Veterans organizations. Our Mission is to enhance pride and patriotism in all Coloradans by building a stronger, more supportive community around our Veterans.
