Marine drill instructor accused of running a clothes dryer with a Muslim recruit inside

Appears that a BC--who fired and/or reassigned numerous DIs IOT address hazing--was removed for being a "toxic leader" in part (or whole) because he canned the offending DIs? If true, How can the Corps take recruit abuse seriously while also labeling BC a toxic leader for doing something about said recruit mistreatment? Not a good "look" for the Corps.
