This is an issue that should be dealt with prior to ones enlistment in the Armed Forces. Once a individual has surgically and chemically altered their appearance, coompleted the requisite counselling and adjustment period, and had their records changed to reflect their new persona, then yeah, zip down to the Armed Forces recruiting office of their choice. The clearest message these guidelines send is not, acceptance of diversity, but, if you want to surgically and chemically alter your body, and receive counselling throughout the process, in an effort to take on a new persona, and get paid, join the armed forces.

I am hoping a new Sec Def might want a redo on some of this silliness.
