It's usually a Command Climate issue or some misuse with a Government Credit Card, when the actual cause is not identified. The Sergeant Major likely has enough years to retire, but unless the Marine Lieutenant Colonel has prior service time, he's probably got a few years to reach retirement age.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. That Lt Col will be lucky to ever receive another promotion to full bird after that dismissal. The SgtMaj, my guess will most likely retire.
