I have some very "progressive" liberal friends with whom I may disagree (and occasionally fear)...but who are also clearly quite sane. I have also encountered individuals, not all that dissimilar from this tragic person...who are clearly suffering from any number of delusions, mental instabilities, or emotional traumas. Personally, I think it's a symptom of the admittedly frustrating position of trying to play Diogenes in a completely "blank" space.

Truth cannot be "subjective"; things either "are" or "are not"...and our society has sufficiently blurred the lines such that at a psychological level, there must be an impact. We learn our "morality lessons" from privileged people portraying victims on screen, and form our cognitive processes within the veil of CGI enhanced fantasies. Is it any wonder than confronted then with the stark, cold realities of everyday existence...frustration gives way to anger?
