Does LTC Vindman still hold an O-5 rank in the Army? Is an administrative move for a Branch Detailed Officer termination of employment? Do all personnel that serve on Yankee White, NSC, and other Presidential details do so the leisure of the President? Those answers are yes, no, and yes.

Those legal experts should probably consult Army Command Policy too.

Moving an officer to another job is hardly retaliation.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel it would be unwise of the President to retaliate when this individual was acting in an official lawful capacity. My understanding is this man did not lose his livelihood, he was sent back to his Pentagon duties.

SFC Bernard Walko - You don't need permission from your boss - even if he's the President - to respond to a Congressional Subpoena.

SFC Bernard Walko - The military answers to Congress at least as much as it answers to the President.
