According to 18 U.S. Code § 1513, “Whoever knowingly, with the intent to retaliate, takes any action harmful to any person, including interference with the lawful employment or livelihood of any person, for providing to a law enforcement officer any truthful information relating to the commission or possible commission of any Federal offense, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.”

Does LTC Vindman still hold an O-5 rank in the Army? Is an administrative move for a Branch Detailed Officer termination of employment? Do all personnel that serve on Yankee White, NSC, and other Presidential details do so the leisure of the President? Those answers are yes, no, and yes.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel it would be unwise of the President to retaliate when this individual was acting in an official lawful capacity. My understanding is this man did not lose his livelihood, he was sent back to his Pentagon duties.
