Honestly I no longer trust anything I read and most of what I see. Every symptom of every disease is or isn’t a symptom of covid. Everything that works does and doesn’t. It all depends on what channel you’re on.

I did a semi-deep dive into this when it first came up and if I remember, the disinfectant/antiseptic properties of UV light maximize in the UV-C range, which is the portion of the UV spectrum that is most carcinogenic. It’s also the portion (thankfully) that is most filtered by the upper atmosphere. The takeaway I got is that it’s good for surfaces but not a safe solution for people.
Certain types of light can kill COVID...but they are similar to air purifier use. Quality newer versions are helpful supplements, but masks and social distance are still necessary. Flimsy older versions can do more harm than good for COVID prevention (e.g. toxic chemicals in assembly, excess UV exposure, etc.)
