Leak investigation led to disbanding of Marine E-8 board

I hate to see this type of incident occurring. I hope they get to the source of the leak and take appropriate steps.

Loose lips. A board member probably told a friend he was selected and he ran his mouth. It's a small USMC and even smaller bunch that are promotion-eligible. Word gets around fast. Likely no malice, but still a possible violation. Folks at HQMC take things like that very seriously. I can remember boards being reconvened and name(s) struck from list.

They should have convened a reduction board for the offender, and made sure to release the results immediately.
I am sure his gaining First Sergeant would love an opportunity to mentor this newly-minted E-7.
