I served with a West Point goat and he was one of the finest officers I ever served with.

Cool article, thanks for sharing. There is one answer in here that I don't think is correct -- the question was: "Do they still recognize the Goat at West Point?"
The Goat is still recognized on graduation day. Everyone in the graduating class knows who it is, and when that person's name is called and he/she walks across the dias to receive their diploma, everyone gets up and cheers. Often the individual is also carrying a hat full of dollar bills as donated by everyone else in the class (everyone gives $1). This was the case when I graduated in 2006, and I believe still happens today. Wow, I am getting old.
