Put in SSD and 16GB RAM and you see what I decided on last November. The ASUS ROG. I had a Asus G73 that I bought back in 2009 and have been very satisfied with them.

Interesting. The only Asus I've ever had is the EEE. It works well with Linux antiX.

I don't use them, but from what I've read, Eurocom and MSI have the best laptops these days. Dell used to, but they are long past relevance...

Never heard of Eurocom. They and MSI seem to make great laptops, but I'm not a gamer, nor am I paying that much for a laptop. I don't see the issue with Dell.

Their reliability and customer service have tanked, concurrent with going big box mass market vice boutique web store... Kind of like HP, E-machines, etc now...

LCDR Rabbah Rona Matlow - Whenever I had hardware issues, state-side or downrange, their support was top-notch. Are you speaking of outside of the military ?

I am saying that Dell has gone down hill; outsourced support overseas (unless you are a premium or business owner), poor QC, etc... I'm not saying they're all bad - they have a lot of good to them. But I think when they went Big Box Mass Market, instead of boutique, they lost a lot...
