If we count only actual children (age less than 18) motor vehicle accidents are the number one cause of death in the US every year.

Democrats are not interested in any compromise. A compromise is when both sides give up something. Democrats are completely unwilling to give up anything on their campaign to disarm law-abiding American citizens. What they are doing is incrementalism, not compromise.
