Recently looked up a few episodes on YouTube myself - I wonder how many kids (probably none) had any idea what this show was about. Heck, now that I think about it.. I don't think we had any idea what we were watching! Between this & some of the other psychedelic shows like HR Puff N Stuff, the creators were probably high when they came up with some of these stories!

Not much has changed... from Captain Kangaroo to Barney to Teletubbies to LazyTown... kids shows are often very strange.

PO1 Robert Payne - All that I can remember apparently predates those shows... Howdy Doody, Winky Dink, Rootie Kazootie, etc. If y'all remember them, then you're an antique like me!!!
