Why do we want to elect women to Congress or to the White House and other executive and legislative bodies? I believe that we should because we need different perspectives deliberating the issues and leading the nation. My wife and I have been doing it for more than 48 years and it works well for us. Shouldn't it work equally well for the US? Of course, this opinion presupposes that men and women are different (and I realize that isn't a popular opinion in some quarters these days). Still, regardless of whom we elect, men or women, we need to elect the best men and women and we don't have a great record of that, do we?
