Sounds like doing some housecleaning of space junk would help minimize the problem. Wondering why there wasn't enough foresight to build cleanup into the space program from the start.
There was a NASA vid about the ISS folks having to get into the escape capsule because an object was detected heading in their direction (which looked no larger than a baseball). It missed ISS, and the object remained unidentified. (Oops - just realized that makes it a "ufo" ;) ) if I find it again I'll post it.
