Israel doubles down against US, saying there is no room in Jerusalem for an American Consulate...

This is one of the many reasons moving the Embassy was a hasty decision. Israeli leadership treat folks from the West Bank and Gaza like second class citizens. The whole purpose of the Consulate of Jerusalem was for those people to have a safe place to go for services. Now you have one location and that will cause issues. I worked at the consulate 2005-2006. Doesn’t take a policital science major to see the issues this decision would cause

The easy decision would be to reopen the consular section on the east side.
