IRS chief: Agency encourages illegal immigrant theft of SSNs to file tax returns

I once worked at a non-profit faith-based organization that 'looked the other way' when illegals applied to participate (effectively denying a slot to a citizen who needed the training to support her children)--until I overheard him bragging in Spanish how he gamed the system and was mocking us for being too stupid to catch him. After I sounded the 'airhorn' a few heads rolled and the organization begrudgingly tightened its vetting system by using eVerify.gov. I was thanked for my diligence--not ever in this mortal lifetime.

REPORT: As long as the information [from misappropriated SSNs] is being used only to fraudulently obtain jobs, [IRS Commissioner] Koskinen said, rather than to claim false tax returns, the agency has an interest in helping [illegals]. "The question is whether the Social Security number they're using to get the job has been stolen. It's not the normal identity theft situation," he said.
