And the world yawns, because:
A) They're tired of the carnage and just want it to end.
B) There is minimal reporting, so no one really sees what is happening.
C) They're all busy with domestic politics.

Just what can we do about it? Is Syria worth a direct confrontation with Russia? Because the only way to remove Assad is by putting boots on the ground, which would be reciprocated by Russia. Otherwise, it's all posturing. The world knows Assad is atrocious, but for all intents and purposes, Syria is a worthless piece of real estate, and not important enough to escalate a regional conflict into a global one.

SSG Robert Perrotto - Should have either gone big or gone home in 2014. Since we didn't intervene before the whole thing devolved, the right answer in my view is hope it ends quickly and help with the clean-up effort.
