It's interesting that both presidents Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were impeached but acquitted by
the U.S. Senate allowing them to complete their terms in office. President Richard Nixon would have been the third president to be impeached had he not been the first and only president to resign from
that office. There was a very good chance Nixon would have been found guilty by the Senate and he
would have been removed from his position as the POTUS. We will never know the answer to that
question as he resigned and then was granted a full pardon.
