I don't know that I agree...
In the interest of full disclosure, I do have some reservations regarding trans servicemembers/ deployability mostly having to do with the limitations of berthing arrangements and showering facilities-- logistics of how to respect EVERYONE's rights, etc.-- but that is very much besides the point of this post.
I'm also in a FB group with Blake, so have interacted with him or seen his online interactions pretty regularly for quite a while now, and I have no idea what he actually does outside of his LBGTQ activism. I didn't even know he was a suppo until I saw him ironing (not wearing) the uniform in this video. (I had no idea what military community he was in.) I mean, maybe he just has a LOT more time on his hands than all the rest of us put together, but he spends a LOT of time on activism and I do not feel that-- even activism for a good and noble cause-- is... appropriate for uniformed personnel. We are supposed to be neutral in uniform so as to not lend the credibility of 'the military' to whatever opinion we personally hold.
Maybe the headline is correct in that his body may not be 'a detriment to unit cohesion' necessarily, but it is not helpful to be a 'celebrity' as a mid-grade officer. You cannot effectively lead a diverse group of Sailors if you are 'famous' to the point of being interviewed by national news media regularly about your personal views about a particular social topic. Once you get to Commanding Officer or Flag level and you are in front of the press all the time in the execution of your actual duties-- sure. Mid grade officers should not be 'known' by the general public.
This is-- of course-- just my opinion. I have nothing against Blake, I do not know him personally, and I have no problem with transgendered people (outside of the aforementioned logistics problems associated with trans servicemembers). I just personally feel that his level of activism is inappropriate for an active duty member of the military.

SFC (Join to see)
LCDR (Join to see) I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have, to include Blake. I was in the closed group with him back in 2011/2012 and yes, majority of what's presented by left leaving media is more or less correct. PM me some time and love to chat.

PO2 Robert Carrillo
Quick way to answer (THERE ARE ONLY AND AGAIN ONLY TWO DIFFERENT SEX) we have lost our military strength because we have to deal with these things.

He is a woman. Never will be a man. She said in the video that she made the full transition. If she wants to be a man, then stop all the nonsense of being "Trans". Bringing attention to oneself based on gender dysphoria is not a wise method of being a team leader. I suspect her view of unit cohesion is much different from those who serve with her.
