This day in age, sometimes you look at your own family and just say wow! We’re pretty damn diverse! My two youngest children come from German, Irish, English, Scandinavian and Italian decent. Their two older siblings are half Venezuelan. When we baptized them, turns out one Godfather is white, Godmother is Hispanic, another Godfather is black and Godmother is Jewish. Another uncle is Japanese. Guess to put it blunt, my kids are heinz-57 mutts and come from a pretty diverse family and do not know color or religion as a separation of their love for those around them. From day one they have always had older siblings with darker skin and aunts that spoke with a bit of a twang here and there and uncles a little darker than most. But what I am most happy about is that my children love one another, love their aunts, uncles, Godparents and don not see color - only feel the love that each offers! Though my family is slightly different than most in our diversity, hoping that as previously mentioned, ones character is what one is judged by, and not the color of their skin nor the creed for which they follow! God Bless everyone as we draw this year to a close. Safe travels to you and yours, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year!
