SFC Josh Billingsley I think is missing the overly motivated DS and the no common sense DS, you know, the one who still call the "My girl is a vegetable" cadence.

As a drill sergeant I changed my voice based on the cadence I was calling. Ultimately whatever it took for me to motivate the Soldiers with cadences is what I did. You can't call "the helicopters hovering" cadence the same as "Freedom is Free". On the flip side of the coin my Drill Sergeants were excellent instructors during OSUT, but definitely were not schooled in the art of cadence calling.

This made me laugh. Our TI was great at cadence, except the one time we got so far away from him we couldn't hear and our element leaders led us right into a fence. SMH. His assistance would always get off beat and mess us up, halt us, blame it on us, rinse and repeat. Or brother flight TI, well only our brother flight could understand him. It's like he didn't know how to speak and just slurred EVERYTHING!
Thanks for the video!

SFC (Join to see) I also had the DS that has seen some S#it, he was always confronting other companies with his cadences. "If you ain't first, YOU AIN'T S#IT!!!" Obviously, we were 1st PLT.

Agreed. We had one DS who danced us down the road every time and a Platoon Sgt who was Delta. Big differences in cadence.
