I just don't see why they felt they had the right to keep the money from him. Were they his conservators? Were they guardians? No. They raised the money for him - and I find it hard to believe they didn't know he was a drug addict. They either should have just given it all or donated it to a veterans organization or a shelter after giving him some money if he blew through too much too fast.

I think they're both wrong on both sides. Sure try to be nice to raise money for someone who was nice to you but now it's just turned into an epic cluster.
