Born in this day in 1899, the great Hoagy Carmichael. He wrote many great songs such as "Stardust" and "Georgia on My Mind." I personally liked his acting on the TV Western Laramie, which I still watch on cable!

Sgt Wayne Wood That's right. It reminded me of The Best Years of Our Lives where he played Butch. I think that film is one of my all time favorites.

Have seen this movie numerous times, Sgt Wayne Wood. Some of the lines in this film are still quoted daily and the on screen chemistry between Bacall and Bogart is palpable.

SGT (Join to see), Hoagy Carmichael's first screen appearance (quite small) was in the movie "Topper" (later made into a TV series). If you've not seen it, give it a try. It's hilarious!

For some reason, Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen, I remember them all! For example, Roland Young played Topper in the movies, but Leo G. Carroll starred as Topper in the TV series. They were both great and almost interchangeable in my opinion. I leave it to you to figure out who's who!
