More federal dollars into public and private education have created inflation in college / university costs. College degrees are worth less than they were in the sixties. Now you need to have an in-demand degree from an in-demand school. Otherwise, you will have a degree and the cost associated with it but no recognition of the value of the degree. We see this all over the service industry with workers that have a college degree but find themselves in minimum wage jobs.
