Didn't one of the dozens of executive orders he signed on day 1 jack up the price of insulin that was incredibly affordable up until that day?

No reason to listen to me, I guess. I worked in the retail drug industry for over 50 years. This is only sort of true. The Trump administration did implement a program where some Medicare and Part D programs could voluntarily cap the cost of insulin at $35 per month in which not all insulin products were necessarily covered. The Biden administration did repeal that program with a new one that was designed to force Federal supported Health Centers to pass on any discounts they received for insulin and epinephrine. That would have impacted less than 10% of insulin users. In the end, that was never implemented because of the difficulty of managing it and the additional paperwork that would be required to do so. So, if it was never implemented what raised the price of insulin? The pharmaceutical companies, as always. The Federal Government does not control the pricing of insulin as evidenced by years of increasing prices for insulin. If they controlled it every President would have lowered the hammer because of the additional votes such an accomplishment would generate.

About 3 1/2 too late for many. Thankfully our patients at the free clinic get their meds for free. Many meds we used to get free from the pharmaceutical companies have dropped off the list, so alternatives need to be found or it comes out of our budget, which is all through donations.
