The article points out that they (The SEALs) did not in fact let this pass. He was called out for it by them when he did it. He has probably been trying to live this down for the past 20+ years.
That being said, he deserves all the ridicule he gets for it.

There was a time when serving with pride was honor enough, that's why I joined , I recently retired as an E-5 u.s. Army after almost 25 yrs. but due to medical reasons , I and have no regrets . Shame on those that portray something that they are not.

in 20+ years of service you have earned many things, a Trident isn't one of them. Aparently honor isn't either.
Nothing out of CA seems to shock me anymore.

When I lived there I found the Inland Empire and San Diego to be fairly Conservative. Evan certain areas of LA away from the Hollywood hills and North ridge I found a mixed bag. One of the things I noticed is that the conservatives identified themselves more as libertarians versus Republicans.

Cpl Brett Wagner, thanks for asking. No I wasn't offended, I just try to be aware that although there are many stereotypes out there which exist for a reason (the percentage of those who earn them) that its not everybody.

PO1 Jackson Plant, Ok don't get me wrong here...Im not really intending to get into the usual Navy vs Marine Corps stuff....but Ive been on ships and had PO3s and PO2s comment that If you arent a Chief, you ain't chit in terms of any functional authority.
That said, you are out of line by saying a Marine only has to pass a PT test to make NCO. And frankly I might add---IF that were true, then you might not have made that cut either?

He's a Democrat and is simply taking cues from his equally unqualified leader.

Jimmy Carter is pretty high up on my list of bad Presidents. Under Woodrow Wilson, we got the Federal Reserve Act, and the Federal Reserve (a private entity of globalist banksters that Congress abdicated its authority to, that is no more federal than Federal Express) has been fleecing America ever since.

After reading these posts there is no misunderstanding that politics is still an emotional subject even among brothers and sisters on Rally Point and that's OK. And it is OK we all understand that 90% of all politicians on all sides are most likely lying, and cannot be trusted at all. But in times like these we can only use our votes to pick the candidate who happens to be the most honest or the one who has the least amount black marks against them. I will use my situation as an Example: I live in Florida we have Rick Scott (R) who in his younger day was involved in a medical scandal not good right! We also have Charlie Crist (D) was governor once already terrible budget issues in the state, rumors of misappropriations. Also caught in a scandal, and has switched parties 2 or 3 times that's the short list. here is a prime case of pick the guy who is the least corrosive to the state. BTW I am an Independent so I will be voting for, wait for it Scott. Don't let politics come between us brothers and sisters just do your research and follow your hearts.

MSG Greg Kelly, I would like to encourage you to vote for Adrian Wyllie, the Libertarian Party candidate. If we really want to make a difference in Florida instead of the same old back and forth between Scott and Crist, Wyllie is the only real choice for smaller, less intrusive government.

I'm all for a smaller, more limited in scope, and less intrusive Federal Gov't. < THAT! is in line with what the Founding Fathers intended. Basically in their vision the States were sovereign entitities and power was decentralized and vested in them. The Federal Gov't was just the bare essentials that tied the States together and gave them an Executive that represented their collective interests to foreign powers, provided for their common defense, and oversaw inter-State commerce. The Founding Fathers did not want to see a strong Federal Gov't because they wanted to avoid the pitfalls of an out of control centralized gov't consolidating power in itself and dictating to the States -- essentially what is going on now in our gov't.
