What I find interesting in the debate over "who's really the problem, white supremacists, AntiFa, etc" in example after example it's the people following white supremacist and associated right wing ideologies ideologies who are going out and killing people.

I also hear people claiming that the things pointing out the problem, are the problem. No, "critical race theory" isn't the problem. The problem is people like this going out and killing people and if they are triggered by critical race theory, that's not a problem with critical race theory. What I suspect is happening is the people for whom the problem doesn't impact don't want to go through the pain of dealing with it because then it does impact them. They are more than happy to keep it swept under the rug, as long as the bad things are happening to someone else.

No more or less tragic and crazy than Justin Tyran Roberts driving around shooting white males, simply because they were white males.

Capt Gregory Prickett - What's your point? Are you trying to minimize the impact of black supremacy on hate crime? Kinda like a little claim claims that "Joey" did this, so I get to do it too?
Despite what Sleepy Joe tells you, white supremacy is not the major issue facing our nation. Change your shirt. You have KoolAid spilled all down the front.

SPC Kevin Ford - Kevin, I see the numbers and while they are disheartening no matter the racial group, they also omit some things.
Blacks are 13% of the population but make up 24% of the offenders of hate crimes. Just looking at 2021 increase in Anti-asian hate crimes in NY, for the first 3 months NY saw a 223% increase in hate crimes against Asians. 90% of the offenders were black.
(CalState, 2021)

I'm not saying that to say "look what blacks are doing," I"m merely saying that white supremacy is not driving the increase in violence all across America. Hate crimes are increasing everywhere. And the bar is much lower when prosecuting whites for hate crimes than prosecuting other minorities for the same hate crimes.

Sgt (Join to see) - I'd have to see the report but that's a small segment. But overall the FBI offender site does list black people as committing these crimes at a greater rate than their population, so there is something "interesting" there.

I'd quibble a bit with the idea that "And the bar is much lower when prosecuting whites for hate crimes than prosecuting other minorities for the same hate crimes." I'm not sure how we could support that other than perception. It gets into data we don't have like, how many people arrested are not charged at all for hate crimes by race or how zealously the police are going after offinders of different races. All of that is guesswork. Having said that based on the FBI statistics having black people committing hate crimes higher than their population would expect, all I have to think is, "are you sure?"

What I will say, and I think you will agree, is that there is no racial genetic predisposition to be a hate crime offender. That leaves differences being more a matter of nurture/culture/historical norms, revenge, etc. Social factors.

Just from a matter of social policy if there is a group that comprises 13.4% of the population but is the victim of 48.5% of the racially motivated hate crimes, that's where I'd be focusing my efforts. Similarly Jewish people comprise 2.4% of the US population but comprise 60.2% of the crimes based on religious bias. Both of these have a huge cultural history in our country of being an issue and both of them are far out of proportion to what their populations indicate they should be which is telling me there is a large cultural pull.

SPC Kevin Ford - I agree 100%. From my perspective, it's all about culture. It's all about how one is raised and what norms are present in your social bubble. Skin color is irrelevant.
