The dean of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government on Friday announced that the school has withdrawn its invitation to convicted Wikileaks leaker Chelsea Manning to serve as a visiting fellow.

Convicted spy is a little strong. She was convicted of mishandling classified information. She was specifically charged with espionage - and she was exonerated of that charge. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

SSG Chris Erickson - Actually - I had to go look it up - as it is no longer really relevant for any real purpose - Manning was acquitted of the most serious charge, that of aiding the enemy. In addition to five or six espionage counts, Manning was found guilty of five thefts, two computer frauds and multiple military infractions. Ultimately, she mishandled 750,000 of what were purported to be highly classified documents - none of which caused any serious damage to the national security interests of our country - her conviction is being appealed. Bottom line - she served her time - she is out and about - she has a wad of cash - is making more from talks and book rights - there is essentially no restriction on her future choices at this time. SSG Chris Erickson - It has been a long time since the trial - memories fade - bottom line the goverment overcharged, withheld evidence, the woman was released after serving a few years - it is over now. Time to stop beating a dead issue. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)
